Schweid, Robusto Start the 2026 Toyota GR Cup Season with Podiums at Arlington for RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate

Arlington, Texas—The 2026 racing season got off to a memorable start for RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate. Both of the team’s drivers stood on the Toyota GR Cup podium in front of thousands of excited fans, making their success at the Grand Prix of Arlington even sweeter.

The Grand Prix of Arlington, held in conjunction with INDYCAR, gives drivers the challenge of navigating a street circuit, but both Max Schweid and Will Robusto proved to be capable of finding the fast way around. Both of the team’s Toyota GR86 cars rolled off the trailer with a lot of speed thanks to outstanding prep work by the RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate crew.

Despite both the cars and the drivers being well-prepared, that didn’t mean qualifying for race one was easy. Between the tricky conditions of a street circuit and the settling-in that happens at the start of every season, things were hectic out on track. Nevertheless, Will secured a third-place start for race one, while Max was seventh.

In the race, though, it was Max who wound up with “third” attached to his name. After a solid run that saw him moving up, Max took home third place to secure the team’s first podium of the season.

Meanwhile, Will had a mistake that dropped him back to ninth. Never one to give up, he put his head down and got to work recovering positions. Despite multiple full-course cautions, Will was able to move back up to fifth.

Changing track conditions during qualifying for race two meant car setup was a bit of a challenge, but Max and Will were still able to post similar results to the first qualifying session. This time around, Max qualified fourth to get a second-row start, and Will was sixth.

Race two had fewer incidents on track, with the safety car coming out only once. By the checkered flag, Will had moved up to third to give RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate another trophy to take home. Max crossed the line just behind in fourth, rounding out a solid start to the 2026 season.

Max is already thinking about his strategy for the next round. “The weekend as a whole was a great success,” he said. “I felt really confident in my speed. I just need to work on my qualifying, so I don’t have to pass as many cars to get to the front.”

“Overall it was a positive weekend,” Will noted. “The car was fast, but with just one mistake by me on Saturday and Sunday, I just put myself on the wrong side and lost out. I’m looking forward to the rest of the year.”
